Get to know the team behind the 21 Days to Joyous Health program

 

Joy McCarthy

Joy McCarthy is a Holistic Nutritionist and founder of JoyousHealth.com. A lover of nourishing and delicious food, she is an author of three bestselling cookbooks: Joyous Health, The Joyous Cookbook and Joyous Detox, a World Gourmand Cookbook Award recipient. She is also the co-host of the Joyous Health Podcast with her husband Walker where they talk about everything they are curious and passionate about within wellness. She co-founded a line of organic herbal teas and natural beauty products as well as a line of children’s natural supplements in partnership with Genuine Health. A trusted nutrition expert, Joy has been featured in hundreds of publications both online and in print; and is a regular health expert on television including Cityline and CTV’s Your Morning. Joy lives in Toronto with her husband Walker and their daughter Vienna.

 

Walker Jordan

Walker Jordan is the Director of Possibilities at Joyous Health, but also a Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer with over 13 years of experience helping people reach their health and fitness goals.

He founded a boutique training studio, Live Body Kinetics Studio, where he was able to implement a holistic approach to wellness by offering clients access to a range of wellness services such as physio, holistic nutrition, chiropractic and more. Walker is excited to bring his unique flavour of challenging, yet oddly satisfying, routines to the program.

 

Rachel Fackoury

Rachel Fackoury is a vibrant and energetic trainer with over 8 years experience in the fitness industry. She obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Toronto where she played on the varsity field hockey team. Through Rachel's experiences in sport and dance growing up, she took an interest in group fitness in university. Currently Rachel offers movement classes in strength training, mat pilates, barre, and cardio dance.

Rachel's fitness community, Discover You, focuses on supporting people through their own personal journeys of self-discovery through fitness, with the goal of always focusing on how movement makes you feel.

 

Charlotte Singmin

Charlotte Singmin has been teaching yoga since 2008 when she received her first 200hr certification in Sivananda yoga. She has since been certified in vinyasa, Hatha, prenatal, restorative, and therapeutic yoga and continues her training with daily practice. She has co-hosted international yoga retreats and currently curates wellness offerings in Toronto through her brand RAW + BASIC.

When she is not on her mat teaching or practicing yoga, you can find her with her family (she is a proud mom to her 9YO son), creating wellness and lifestyle content, modelling or out enjoying nature.

 

Alwynn Taylor

Alwynn Taylor is the founder of Tmotion Pilates and has been teaching for over 8 years. She loves creating a centred space, where students can embrace the Pilates practice—encouraging people to go beyond the familiar. Alwynn believes pilates is about stretching more than you can reach (figuratively), which requires curiosity and a desire to go beyond the limitations of present knowledge and experience.

Yes, it absolutely is! The daily mindfulness challenge is only 5-10 minutes, we recommend you do two workouts each week which are only 30 minutes, and the recipes are pretty simple as well.

On a daily basis, the time commitment is probably 30-40 minutes. Some days it’s more and some days it’s less, but the goal is to make these habits a lifestyle that you continue after the program is over.

Yes! Whether you’re a health nut at heart or you feel like you need a mind and body reset, this program will help you make this year your healthiest, happiest year yet! If you’re new to the nutrition world, then you will love my nutrition Zoom classes and if you’ve been part of the Joyous Health community for a while, then you’ll be really into the new mindfulness and movement parts of this challenge, not to mention the delicious recipes!

Yes! All the recipes are kid-friendly (I have a 7 year old and the recipes have to be approved by her!). I’m not in favour of making more than one dinner, so the recipes suit a family or an individual perfectly!

There are two different meal plans we’ve created to help address this, vegan and omnivore! For any nut allergies in a household, you can easily substitute or remove nuts from the few recipes that call for them. All of the recipes are dairy-free, sugar-free, and gluten-free.

All of the meals are simple to make and include detailed instructions so any level of skill can make them. The ingredients used in the recipes are commonly found in grocery stores and health food stores or online!

While this challenge isn’t centred around weight loss specifically, the meal plans are focused on whole foods, anti-inflammatory ingredients, and plant-forward meals. This challenge is designed to help you feel your best and may help you achieve a healthier weight depending on your previous eating and movement habits.

Not to worry, the important thing is that you’re starting to implement movement into your daily life. No equipment is needed and all workouts are perfect for all levels of fitness. We’ve got modifications available so you are encouraged to workout at your own pace.

Once you register, you’ll be sent an email confirmation of your purchase. When the program begins you will be able to log into your Dashboard to access your videos. Please make sure that you register with an email address that you check regularly as you’ll also be sent emails and info about the program throughout the 21 days.

You have access to the video content for 1-year starting from January 1, 2023.

You may request a refund within 5 days of purchase. A $30 administration fee will be deducted from any refund.
